Pros

Stunning Sea View Rooms

Every room at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion boasts a breathtaking sea view. For families, some rooms interconnect, providing convenience and space while maintaining a sense of togetherness. I would say in general it is better for couples or families with older children.

Beachfront Suites

The Beachfront Suites are a standout feature, allowing guests to walk straight out onto the pristine west coast beach. These suites also come with the added perk of daily afternoon tea, airport transfers & a butler, adding a touch of elegance and relaxation to your stay.

Prime West Coast Location

Situated on the west coast of Barbados, the resort is perfectly located near shops and restaurants, making it easy to explore local attractions. This prime spot ensures that you’re never far from the vibrant life of Barbados while enjoying the serenity of the beach.

Beautiful Beach

The beach at Fairmont Royal Pavilion is ideal for long walks, sunbathing, and swimming. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for a refreshing swim and even offer the chance to swim with turtles, creating unforgettable memories.

Outstanding Cuisine

With three restaurants available—two for lunch and two for dinner—guests are treated to a variety of culinary delights. The cuisine combines local and international flavors, ensuring every meal is a gourmet experience. When I was there the lunch and dinner offerings were oustanding catering for all dietary requirements.

Relaxing Atmosphere

The resort strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and activity. The atmosphere is serene, yet there’s enough going on to keep guests entertained and engaged throughout their stay.

Inclusive Watersports

Guests can enjoy a range of watersports, including kayaking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and Hobie Cat sailing. These activities are included, allowing guests to make the most of the beautiful Caribbean Sea.

Tennis Courts

For those who enjoy tennis, the resort offers two complimentary tennis courts, adding another dimension to the array of activities available.

Areas for Improvement

Lack of a Spa

One notable downside is the absence of a dedicated spa. While treatments are available, staff conduct them in-room, which might not offer the same experience as a traditional spa setting. The massages themselves are excellent however.

Limited Gym Facilities

The gym offers limited equipment. While it suffices for basic workouts, fitness enthusiasts might find it lacking. The west coast does provide lovely running routes for those wanting to explore outside the hotel.

Villa Location

Fairmont offers one three bedroom villa, but its location feels slightly tucked away and lacks an ocean view. Families might find the interconnecting suites and rooms a better option for space and convenience.

High Food Prices

As with many locations in Barbados, food costs can be high. Lunch and dinner prices are on the expensive side, and while afternoon tea is a nice touch, only Beachfront Suite guests receive it complimentary.
